This airfield was established during the early 1930's, located approx. 18 miles south of Salome Arizona (approx. 92 miles WNW of present day Sky Harbor Int'l Airport, Phoenix). During the mid 30's, it was designated as one of many emergency landing fields across the nation for alternate facilities for airmail and passenger flights. It was closed in the late 50's. In the early 60's, it showed on FAA maps as "Salome Emergency Field" and later as "Site 27B" to be used only for "emergency only". East/West runway: 4100 feet North/South runway: 3900 feet
