This is a modern footbridge at Snarestone on the Ashby Canal which allow access to the picnic area on the west bank opposite the Ashby Canal Association slipway.

The footbridge swings to allow canal traffic to access Snarestone Wharf from the south.

The slipway was provided by the Ashby Canal Association for the benefit of its members.
