The Ashby Canal Association provides a car park and slipway at the Wharf for the use of its members. The Association has been instrumental in the reopening of sections of the Ashby Canal which were closed due to mining subsidence.

On Street View in January 2022 the motorboat “Ram” owned by the Ashby Canal Association is moored at the Snarestone Whaft.
