On Saturday 1st October 2022, Toru JA1CTV/0, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Akaiwadake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 9 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF and the 40 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Akaiwadake is 2769 metres (9085 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Akaiwadake is in Nagano Prefecture on Honshu Island.
