On Tuesday 8th August 2023, Carine HB9FZC/P & Rene HB9NBG/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland, reached the summit of Bärenhorn and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 26 contacts in total working on the 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Bärenhorn is 2929 metres (9610 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
