On Tuesday 23rd August 2022, Carine HB9FZC/P and Rene HB9NBG/P a couple of radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Pizzo Tambo and activated this summit on the radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 24 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pizzo Tambo is 3279 metres (10758 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
