This battle was fought on July 1, 1898 and was a decisive victory for the US/Cuban against the Spanish in the Spanish-American War. The battle is best known for the Rough Riders and its commander Theodore Roosevelt, but the Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th and 24th Infantry did most of the heavy fighting.
