On Wednesday 27th July 2022 Alan MM0VPM/P a radio amateur from Scotland reached the summit of Ben Lawers and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 21 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Ben Lawers is 1214 metres (3983 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
