On Tuesday 31st January 2023, Jose EA7GV, a radio amateur from Spain reached the summit of Cuatro Puntas and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 50 contacts in total working on the 60,40, 30, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Cuarto Puntas is 2088 metres (6850 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
