This aircraft was built as a C-47 in 1944 by Douglas in Santa Monica, CA. The aircraft was delivered to the USAAF and took part in D-Day. After WWII the aircraft was sold to Empire Airlines and converted to a passenger carrier and was registered as a DC-3.
