Former United Reformed Church

Former United Reformed Church (StreetView)
The former Trinity United Reformed Church on Waterloo Road in Ramsey.

URC Isle of Man in Ramsey was originally a Presbyterian congregation and construction of their large Waterloo Road church commenced in 1883 and was completed in 1885. In 1972 Trinity together with its sister church St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Douglas joined the English United Reformed Church and became Trinity URC and St. Andrew’s URC respectively.

The Waterloo Road church was built in the Gothic style with a fine tower to a design by Mr Barry and built by Boyle Brothers.

In 2019 Trinity URC and Ramsey Methodist Church, both on Waterloo Road, closed as places of Worship due to dwindling congregations and increasing running costs, and now meet in St. Paul’s Church Hall as an ecumenical partnership.
