On Saturday 22nd October 2022, JI1AVM/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Gangaharasuriyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 17 contacts in total working on the 23cm and 70cm amateur radio bands.
The summit of Gangaharasuriyama is 1874 metres (6148 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Gangaharasuriyama is in Yamanashi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
