On Saturday 20th May 2023, Atsushi JH7IOT/7, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Gentagatake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 14 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.
The summit of Gentagatake is 1545 metres (5069 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Gentagatake is in Iwate Prefecture on Honshu Island.
