On Wednesday 5th April 2023, Carlos CT1HIX, a radio amateur from Portugal reached the summit of Giestoso and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 23 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m, 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Giestoso is 1336 metres (4383 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
