Monument to the Romani killed in WWII

The Romani genocide/Holocaust aka the Porajmos was the attempted effort of the Nazis to exterminate the Romani (Gypsy) people of Europe. In 1935 Adolf Hitler defined the Gypsies in the Nuremburg laws as "enemies of the race-based state", the same category as the Jews. Historians estimate that 25% or 200,000 to 500,000 Romani were killed during the Nazi reign.

This monument is located in a Polish forest near Borzęcin where many Romani were killed.
