On Saturday 13th August 2022, Andrew K7AHR and Wiiliam WJ7WJ two radio amateurs from Oregon reached the summit of Mount Saint Helens and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 46 contacts in total working on the 23 cm UHF, 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mount Saint Helens is 2550 metres (8366 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
