On Saturday 6th August 2022 Paul VA6MPM and Peter VE6FPV two radio amateurs from Alberta in Canada reached the summit of Mount Willingdon and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 10 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Mount Willingdon is 3353 metres (11001 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
