On Monday 2nd January 2023, Peter VK3PF, a radio amateur from the state of Victoria, Australia, using the club call VK3BEZ (Eastern Zone Amateur Radio Club (“EZARC”)) reached the summit of Mt Blue Rag and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 40, 20 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mt Blue Rag is 1679 metres (5509 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
