On Thursday 28th March 2024 at 13:08 UTC, Lacy YO6CFB, a radio amateur from Romania, made contact with Chris SP5DU/P, a radio amateur from Poland, who was operating from Natura 2000 Chelmskie Torfowiska Weglanowe (SPFF-2271), on the 40m amateur radio band. Chris made a total of 127 contacts while at the reserve.
Natura 2000 Chelmskie Torfowiska Weglanowe (SPFF-2271)[Chelm Carbonate Peat Bogs], is a protected area of 4,309.4200 hectares located in Chelm County in the Lublin Voivodeship in the east of Poland. It was designated in 2007 as a Special Protection Area for Birds and is part of the Natura 2000 network.
The Natura 2000 network aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
