This hotel was built by the North Staffordshire Railway company in 1849 opposite their railway station in Stoke-on-Trent.

It remained a ‘railway hotel’ until it was sold in 1953 by British Rail today it is part of the Britannia Hotels group.

The hotel has 88 rooms available for guests and there are a number of function rooms a large restaurant, a café bar and a licensed bar. This makes the hotel suitable for a range of events including business meetings and conferences, social gatherings, weddings, and local society meetings.
