On Sunday 7th August 2022 Elena EA4DOS/P and Alejandro EA4DON/P two radio amateurs from Spain reached the summit of Pico del Cuezo and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 50 contacts in total working on the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pico del Cuezo is 2033 metres (6670 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
