On Saturday 5th August 2023, Eric AD6VT, a radio amateur from Bishop, CA reached the summit of Piute Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 12 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Piute Mountain is 3834 metres (12579 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
