On Thursday 8th September 2022, ERIC KI7ADV and AD6VT, a radio amateur from Bishop, CA reached the summit of Blanco Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Blanco Mountain is 3444 metres (11299 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
