On Wednesday 13th July 2022 Mario HB9HAT/P a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Piz Julier/ Piz Güglia and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 19 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF, 70cm UHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Piz Julier/ Piz Güglia is 3380 metres (11089 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
