On Friday 18th August 2023, Riccardo IU1PZJ, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Roc del Boucher and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 32 contacts in total working on the 70cm, 2m, 40m, 20m and 17m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Roc del Boucher is 3285 metres (10778 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
