This mosaic is on the façade of the former public library building on London Road in Stoke.

The mosaic depicts the head a d shoulders of William Shakespeare, The Bard of Stratford.

The library building which was opened in 1879 was designed Charles Lynam who designed many of the public buildings in and around Stoke-on-Trent.
