On Sunday 17th July 2022 Eric KG6MZS a radio amateur from Topanga, CA reached the summit of Sierra de Don Fernando and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 15 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Sierra de Don Fernando is 3159 metres (10364 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
