Stallings Island is an archeological site with shell mounds, located near Augusta, Georgia. Also found at the site was the earliest evidence of pottery in Eastern North America. The ceramic sherds date to around 4500-3000 B.P., and are fiber-tempered. These were made during the Archaic period.
