On Sunday 2nd October 2022, Tak 7M4QZE/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Tarousan and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 70cm UHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Tarousan is 2368 metres (7769 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Tarousan is in Tochigi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
