On Thursday 1st September 2022, Lezsek OM/SQ9MDFF/P, a radio amateur from Poland reached the summit of Veľká Brdárová grapa and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 80 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Veľká Brdárová grapa is 1859 metres (6099 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
