Taisun, the world's largest gantry crane (or crane of any kind) at Yantai Raffles Shipyard in Yantai, Shandong Province, China, took over 7 years to plan and an additional 12 months for the preparation of its design framework. It was finished in April 18, 2008. It has a lifting capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes.
