On Saturday 7th January 2023, Ryan JK1QXM, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yakebitaiyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 13 contacts in total working on the 20, 17 and 15 metre VHF amateur radio bands.
