On 29 February 2008, the United States Air Force announced that a partnership between Northrop Grumman and EADS had won the contract to produce the new KC-45 aerial refueling tanker. The contract is considered to be worth up to $40 billion with 179 planes to be delivered over the next ten to fifteen years. The production of these aircraft will be at Brookley.
That does not look like any military or contract site to me, it clearly someone living there in a bunch of sketchy trailers and other make-shift structures.
Something strange going on with the GM image. Look at some of the buildings around the prison. It's almost as if it's two images with some transparency, some ghosting.
Marines and soldiers at the outlying forward operating bases have another name for al-Asad -- "Camp Cupcake." It is a place where an oasis has served traders since the time of Abraham of the Bible. Al-Asad is thought of as luxurious compared with most other bases in Iraq. New housing, called "can cities," are springing up all over Al Asad. Metal trailers linked together provide one or two soldiers with 10-foot by 20-foot living areas. Latrines have running water and...
"The highest number ever recorded was 302, and the lowest number 222. The average number of inmates during the 29 years of service was around 260. There were approximately 1545 total men imprisoned there and the NPS indicated that while 1,576 number were issued, over thirty convicts were returned to Alcatraz with different numbers issued."
Those are very small numbers for a Federal Prison.
Oh, it's an area with Big Houses on Small Lots next to very busy roads. Boones Farry is like living next to I-5, it's a big road... If I had that money, I'd live a little further from the road...
19th Fighter Division
The 19th Fighter Division was established in November 1951. The division is believed to be comprised of the 55th, 56th and 57th Regiments.
The division is currently located at the Zhengzhou Airbase and flies the Su-27 and the J-7 aircraft.
Also, that drive-through next to the Visitor's Center is where they take random cars in and take 'em apart. No kidding. You give your permission by default when you drive on a Federal Facility.
There is development there? I was there three years ago for a class, I know they have a Navy brig and a new Commisary, but didn't see much in the way of contractor work...
The building had been started, but than money backing ran out and it was on hold. At that time, the original crane (pictured) was taken down. After about a year, the project got going again and the new crane was put up.
But it's obviously camo. It isn't "exactly" a picture because it isn't a picture. I mean, obviously a roof can have a mural, but there is some artistic intent in a mural. A random camo pattern on a roof could be many things, but it's not likly a mural...
In the "old days", billboards had paper surfaces that where put up with glue. These days, they are actually huge plastic tarps that fit over the board like a fitted sheet.

East St. Louis is across the river (and state line) from St. Louis, and is an extremely economically depressed city, 90 percent of which is abandoned.

There seems to be some construction shacks on top, but no materials or vehicles on the ground...
