Description: French aircraft carrier laid down in November 1955, launched 21 December 1957 and commissioned 22 November 1961. She was decommissioned 1 October 1997 and on December 31, 2005 the Clemenceau left Toulon to be dismantled in Alang, Gujarat, India but after much controversy about hazardous materials used in the ship she was ordered to be towed back to France. Her sister ship Foch serves in the Brazilian Navy as São Paulo.

Anonymous's picture This Aircraft carrier is not the Clemenceau (actuallly decomissioned) but the nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulles
