Alexandra Gardiner Creel Goelet's Island (Gardiners Island)

Alexandra Gardiner Creel Goelet is the current owner of Gardiner's island which is one of the largest private islands in the United States at just over 5 square miles. The island, located off of the coast of Long Island, has been in owned by the Gardiner family since 1639.

Julia Gardiner was born on the island in 1820. She later married John Tyler, who was the 10th President of the United States.
