This unassuming liquor store located in South Boston, Ma. was once the headquarters of American organized crime figure. James "Whitey" Bulger.

At the time, this convenience store was called, "South Boston Liquor Mart."

In January 1995, this was the location where Whitey Bulger received a visit from his FBI handler, Agent John Connolly who informed him that he was about to be arrested. This information helped facilitate Bulger's escape and triggered a nationwide manhunt for Bulger, making him number 1 on the FBI most wanted list for 16-years until he was arrested in Santa Monica,CA on June 22, 2011.
