Lead, Copper, Zinc mining operation by Doe Run Peru. Recently featured on CNN's Planet in Peril series as one of the most polluted places on earth (Blacksmith Inst.). Town built around large smelter operation in narrow alpine valley. Large ore stockpile south of town.
