Rockall - Missing Imagery

Rockall is a remote, uninhabited islet in the North Atlantic Ocean annexed by the United Kingdom in 1957. Rockall is measured at 17.15-meters high (56.27 ft) and is made of granite.

The rock has been noted in records since the 16th century. The UK claimed the rock in 1955 and the 12 nautical miles and economic zone surrounding the islet. Over the years, Denmark, Iceland and Ireland have fought the UK over the rock's territorial oil and fishing rights.

In 2013 Marine Scotland discovered four new species of animals in the ocean surrounding Rockall. They include a sea snail, two species of clam and a marine worm.
