One of the first ships built from the keel up for sailing naval training ship, Presidente Sarmiento was built Cammell Laird iat Birkenhead, UK, in 1898. She sailed until 1938 and served as shoreside training ship until her retirement in 1961. Since then she has been a museum ship in Buenos Aires.

This might in fact be corvette Uruguay from 1877. Both Uruguay and Sarmiento should be around here but this is the only one I have found.
