The White Pass and Yukon Route is a historic railroad linking the port of Skagway, Alaska with Whitehorse, Canada the capital of the Yukon. The start of the railroad
came with the Klondike Gold rush of 1898. Completion of the railroad in 1900 made it the primary route supplanting the Chilkoot Trail.
