Located in the capital of Algeria is a Roman triumphal arch. The arch was erected by Gaius Calpurnius Ceisus to commemorate the victories of Lucius Verus, junior colleague and adoptive son of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, over the Parthians during the Roman-Parthian War of 161 to 166.

The arch was entirely made of marble.
