On Saturday 9th September 2023, John EI3KA/P, a radio amateur from County Galway, Ireland reached the summit of Ben Lugmore and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 20 contacts in total working on the 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Ben Lugmore is 803 metres (2635 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
