On Friday 31st May 2024, The BBC News website, reported that Chester Zoo, in north-west England, was celebrating the birth of 11 Humboldt penguin chicks.
Humboldt penguins are native to the shores of Peru and Chile in South America. They are listed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and are considered to be the most at-risk of the world’s 17 penguin species.
