Emilie Habel was the owner of the C. Habel Brewery in Berlin. The building was designed by Bernhard Sehring in 1903-1904. After 1930, the building was divided into apartments which have been frequented by artists and scholars over the years, including Yoko Ono, Vivienne Westwood, and Myriam Decroze.
