Forbes Field outfield wall

Forbes Field outfield wall (StreetView)
The Forbes Field baseball stadium opened in 1909 and was demolished in 1971. A section of the outfield wall and a flagpole are all that remain from the original structure. It was the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team from 1909-70 and was also used by the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers football teams.

Across the street from this scene, a plaque is visible on the sidewalk commemorating the location of the game winning home run hit by Bill Mazeroski to win the 1960 World Series.

Home plate remains in almost its exact original location, but it is now encased in glass on the first-floor walkway of the University of Pittsburgh's Posvar Hall.

And I stepped on it! Also saw Clemente and Mazeroski et al play when I was a kid.
