The former United Reformed Church on Mill Street in Congleton is currently the Eaton Masonic Hall which is used by the Eaton Masonic Lodge (Lodge No. 533) which was founded in 1846.
The United Reformed Church was built by Captain Jonathan Scott in1790 to further his desire to revive the Nonconformity movement in the town. The building remained a nonconformist chapel until 1877, when following the relocation of the church, it was sold to the Freemasons.
The design of the building has much in common with many other nonconformist chapels and churches in the UK.
