Garibaldi's House in Staten Island

Giuseppe Garibaldi resided in this house on Tompkins Avenue in Staten Island from 1851-53 with his friend, Antonio Meucci, who is believed to have invented the telephone before Bell received his own patent for it. The house is now used as a museum.
