Herb Brooks Arena

This ice rink, located at Lake Placid's Olympic Center, was the site of the "Miracle on Ice" hockey game in the 1980 Winter Olympics. The underdog American team defeated the Soviet Union and went on to capture the gold medal. In 2005, the arena was renamed after Herb Brooks, who coached that 1980 team.
