Holmes Chapel is a large village in the ceremonial (historically)country of Cheshire. Since 1 April 2009 it has been in the Cheshire East Council unitary authority area.
It is located 1 mile (1.6Km) from Junction 18 on the M6 Motorway and 25 miles (40km) south of the city of Manchester and 20 miles (32km) north of the city of Stoke-on-Trent.
The village developed around the crossroads of the A50, running from north to south. with the A535, running from east to west.
