The Mat Fina region is the main tobacco producing region and is located in the Brazilian state of Bahia. Mata Fina means "vegetation thin". Tobacco was found growing naturally on thin parts of land between the forest, hence the name. Mat Fina tobacco is often used as binder leaves or maduro wrapper in the cigar.
